NEW CITY AMENITY DEMO FRIDAY WITH EV CAR PARADE

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (April 19, 2012) - On Friday, April 20 at 10 a.m., Mayor Bill Foster will join representatives from Chargepoint and NovaCharge to demonstrate one of the city's ten Electric Vehicle Charging Stations - a new amenity for Florida's first Green City. The demonstration will take place alongBeach Drive near the intersection ofSecond Ave. NE. The Mayor will be effectively "flipping the switch" as all ten of the charging stations will become activated.

Following the demonstration and brief remarks, this early Earth Day celebration moves to theDaliMuseumwhere two Dali-owned charging stations will also be unveiled. Mayor Foster and Brad Morse, Dali Museum Trustee will lead a procession of alternative vehicles to the new Dali Museum located at One Dali Blvd. Participants are welcome to join in the procession with their own electric vehicle bicycles, wind or nuclear powered devices or walk the short scenic route for a brief Earth Day celebration.
