16th ANNUAL FREE FAMILY FUN DAY FESTIVAL MAY 5
St. Petersburg, Fla. (April 26, 2012) – The 16th Annual Family Fun Day Festival at the James B. Sanderlin Family ServiceCenter, 2335 22nd Ave. S., will be held on Saturday, May 5, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be entertainment, give-aways, medical screenings, agency presentations, inflatable games, music, food and ice cream. Some of the featured performers include the Florida Spiritualairs, the Mighty Sons of Zion, the Royal Theater Sweetbay Conservatory performers, POETIC, the Kali Kali Dancers, SHE SAY and more.
All activities are free and open to the public. This event continues to bring together community residents, friends and family, police, social service agencies and organizations, health care providers, churches, neighborhood associations and city officials for a day of positive interaction, sharing and uniting in a drug- and crime-free venue.
The festival provides an avenue to educate residents about the valuable resources available to them through the city, social services, health care, and faith-based community. It is an ideal event to market services that are needed and available in the community. Services include free health screenings for blood pressure levels, for diabetes, and cholesterol.
