22ND AVE. RAILROAD CROSSING REPLACEMENT PROJECT STARTS MONDAY
ST. PETERSBURG, FL (July 12, 2013) - Work to repair worn-out CSX railroad crossings on 22nd Ave. N., between 22nd and 25th Sts. N., is expected to begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 15. Variable message boards will inform motorists of alternate routes and uniformed officers will be on hand to maintain traffic flow.
The project will close 22nd Ave. N. at the railroad tracks west of I-275. Access to businesses east and west of the railroad crossing will be available at all times.
All interstate entrance and exit ramps will remain open during the project; however, motorists approaching the closure needing interstate access will be detoured to 38th Ave. Interstate motorists needing to travel west on 22nd Ave. N. should exit at the 38th Ave. interchange and use 28th St. N. or U.S. 19 as alternate routes.
The railroad crossing repair project was originally slated for completion in mid-June. The project is expected to be completed by July 18.
