Dog owners are celebrating in St. Petersburg. The city now has five dog parks where canines can run free, play and meet new friends. These fenced areas are approximately one-acre with doubled gated entrances and exits. There are separate water fountains for thirsty pets and their owners, a pooper scooper station, trash bins, a bulletin board, and a time-out area for the occasional behavior problem. And, no dog park would be complete without a fire hydrant! All the city's dog parks are open daily, 30 minutes before sunrise and close 30 minutes after sunset. For more information contact the parks department at (727) 893-7335.
