Performance Measures

Our goal is simple, to make St. Petersburg the best city in America!

In order to make St. Petersburg best it is vital that we measure the impact of what we do and the services we perform. Accordingly, we have developed a number of performance indicators that measure such factors as our ongoing costs for providing different services, the timeliness of our service responses, our progress in accomplishing major projects, and our rate of success in addressing defined problem areas. In some cases, we measure our progress against our past performance; in others, against performance goals that have been developed to address specific citizen concerns. In some instances, we also measure ourselves against four cities in Florida (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Tampa) which are comparable to St. Petersburg in terms of population and scope of services.

For ease of review, the measures are generally presented in graph form.
