Pizza Party in a Pot Gardening Activity, 11:30 AM
Children will create a container garden with herbs and tomatoes and will learn the basics of growing edibles in containers. Pots and plants will be provided, as well as s set of children’s gardening tools.
The cost of the class is admission to the garden and $10.00 for each container planted, which covers the cost of materials and the tools. Children will take the tools and a completed container garden home!
Registration is required for this class, so that we can insure that we have adequate supplies.

Annual memberships that are purchased on those days by families with children under 17 years of age and younger will be offered at a discounted rate of $35.00 per family of up to six persons. Individual admission prices for the day will be offered at a $1.00 reduction for each ticket.
Saturday, March 7, 11:30 AM, Botanical Sketching Workshop, provided by Douglas Land, a professional artist and instructor specializing in all areas of drawing. Learn techniques in the classroom, and then move out into the garden to sketch. The fee for this class is the price of admission to the garden and a $10.00 fee for instruction to be paid to Mr. Land. Please bring a sketch pad and pencil.
Saturday, March 21, 11:30 AM, Basics of Bamboo in the Florida Landscape, Karlyn Bradshaw Island Bamboo. Free class with paid admission to the garden. Discount provided for future purchases at Island Bamboo for attendees.
Saturday, March 28, 11:30 AM, All About Gesneriads, Greg Stych, free class with paid admission to the garden. There will be Gesneriads for sale.
Saturday, April 4 Family Day in the Garden all day! Annual passes for families reduced to 35.00, and 1.00 off each daily admission. Children’s Grow with Us Class: The Edible Peace Patch will lead a hands-on activity Planting Your Edible Garden from Seeds, 11:30 am, free class with admission to the garden. Pre-registration required.
Saturday April, 4 Adult Horticultural Class, Orchids, Basic Culture and Care, 11:30, free with admission to the garden, presented by Michael Polen of Artstone, local expert on growing orchids successfully.

Saturday, May 2, Family Day in the Garden all day! ! Annual passes for families reduced to 35.00, and 1.00 off each daily admission. Children’s Grow with Us Class, The Wonderful World of Airplants! Presented by Mitch Armstrong and Annie Sprague of Armstrong Nursery, 11:30 am. Annie and Mitch will teach children about airplants and will lean activities to mount ariplants for growing and display at home. Class fee is 10.00 for materials plus admission to the garden. Pre-registration required.
Saturday, May 9, Garden Design Series, Exotic Edibles in the Landscape, 11:30 am, presented by Leslie Waters, whose unique garden is composed of edibles only! Free with admission to the garden.
Saturday, May 16, All About Angel Wing Begonias, 11:30 am class presented by Greg Sytch, who cultivates exotic begonias. Plant selection, placement, growing and care instruction will be provided. There will be plants for sale after class. The class is free with admission to the garden.
Saturday, May 30, Garden Design Series, Creating a Garden with Natives, 11:30 am, presented by Bruce Turley, Wilcox Garden Center. Bruce is a local expert on the design, creation and care of native landscapes. Class is free with admission to the garden, and there will be a native plant sale after class.
