Dine!
What could be better than dinner overlooking the water at The Pier? Try out the new restaurant on the Pier’s hub. Great food, and an even better view with the city’s waterfront and the sweeping iconic Pier canopy in clear view.
Introducing the New Pier in St.Petersburg, Florida
The new St. Pete Pier will be an extraordinary new landmark that is representative of both the people and the city of St. Petersburg. Designed by the world renowned architect Michael Maltzan and his team of carefully selected experts, “The Lens,” or new St. Pete Pier, will be an accessible, functional icon that is as much a public park as a breathtaking sculpture on the water, both during the day and night. Come fish, eat, shop, paddle, gaze, stroll, run and reflect on the beauty that is – and will be – classic St. Petersburg.

Welcome Mat
A visitor’s first experience to the new Pier begins at the Welcome Mat. A circular round-about and a public piazza define the space, providing a transportation hub and space for outdoor events, such as farmer’s markets and civic celebrations.
> More (PDF)Hub
Adjacent to parking facilities and located on land at the base of the Pier, the Hub will be the primary retail and restaurant destination for the new Pier. An elevated walkway along the water’s edge will offer unparalleled views of the dramatic Pier canopy, and space will be provided for retail, restaurant and other concessions.
> More (PDF)Overwater Drive
One of two pathways leading to the Pier’s canopy, Overwater Drive will serve pedestrians, service vehicles, a motorized passenger tram and emergency access over-water. Along the way, two balconies are provided for shade and relaxation.
> More (PDF)Overwater Bridge
The second pathway leading to easternmost loop of the Pier, the overwater bridge is reserved for pedestrians and cyclists. A graceful, elevated wooden walkway, framed by sleek aluminum guardrails, offers visitors an elevated view of the canopy, marina and land, including the city skyline.
> More (PDF)Lens Canopy
The defining element of the new Pier, the Lens Canopy soars to a height of 86’ above Tampa Bay. Within its crown-shaped structure, the canopy features an elevated bike path and scenic overlook balconies, accessible by both stairs, ramps and elevators, offering dramatic views back to the city. Beneath the canopy, a shaded platform provides a home for the Pier’s Promontory.
> More (PDF)Promontory
Beneath the expansive canopy, a shaded platform intimately close to the water’s edge offers space for a waterside eatery, seating, restrooms, special events and festivities, and the opportunity to get people closer to the water. The promontory rock steps to the water also features a dedicated fishing platform.
> More (PDF)Marina
Within the closed loop of the new Pier, a sheltered harbor will house a circular floating dock marina. Built for non-motorized watercraft, The Pier will offer concessions for a variety of boats, from kayaks and paddle boats to stand-up paddle boards. This area also includes provisions for a concession stand, bait shop and restrooms.
> More (PDF)Underwater Feature
Still under study and review, the Underwater Feature offers an exciting opportunity at the new Pier, as well as an important education asset to residents around Tampa Bay. The Underwater Feature is intended to function as a habitat enhancement and learning attraction.
