City of St. Petersburg Seeks Candidates for Youth Development Grant Review Committee

St. Petersburg, FL (February 4, 2019) – The City of St. Petersburg is seeking residents who are interested in promoting education and workforce participation to the city’s at-risk youth to fill vacancies on the Youth Development Grant Review Committee.
The committee reviews grant applications for the Youth Development Grant Program, a component of the My Brother’s and Sister’s Keeper (MBSK) initiative that began in 2016 and provides recommendations to the Mayor for funding based on criteria and guidelines.
Said Mayor Kriseman: “I remain committed to the young people of this city, and my administration remains focused on those who are most at-risk. Our Youth Development Grant Review Committee is leading the way, and I want to encourage those who are dedicated to the future of their community and our city to apply now. Together, we can help these young people develop marketable skills and expand job training opportunities for them as well.”
Applicants can submit resumes either online via digital JotForm or by mail. Applicants must denote City Council District with their resume. The City will be accepting resumes until noon on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. Committee member terms of service will be staggered in one- and two-year terms. Four members will serve one year until 2020; the remaining four members will serve until 2021.

All members are appointed to the Committee by the Mayor. Selected applicants must attend a mandatory review committee orientation on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 5:30-7:00 p.m.
