Public Meeting 5/15: Downtown Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project

The City of St. Petersburg Engineering and Capital Improvements Department is in the process of receiving construction bids for a pedestrian safety improvement project in downtown St. Petersburg.

The City will be hosting an open house where staff will be available for input and to answer questions.

May 15 at 6-7 p.m.
The Coliseum
535 4th Ave. N

The project area is 3rd St. between 5th Ave. S and 5th Ave. N. and will include:
  • Construction on new bulb outs (curb extensions) at various intersections
  • New ADA sidewalk and curb ramps
  • Landscape improvements
  • Milling and resurfacing of the intersections
The project is scheduled to begin construction in October 2019 and finish within 280 days. Traffic disruptions and inconveniences will be minimized, but temporary lane closures and detours will occur. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained.
