Celebrate the Holidays in the Sunshine City

St. Petersburg, FL (November 2019) – Holidays in the Sunshine City returns to St. Petersburg downtown waterfront. From Nov. 30 to Jan. 1, St. Petersburg celebrates several fun holiday events, including Santa Parade & Tree Lighting, Snowfest, Meet Santa, Holiday Movies in the Park and light displays throughout the waterfront parks.

Santa Parade & Tree Lighting – The illuminated Santa Parade & Tree Lighting is back for another year of holiday fun on Saturday, Nov. 30. The new illuminated night parade begins at 6 p.m. in Albert Whitted Park, 480 Bayshore Dr. SE, to Fifth Ave. NE. Then, Santa and Mayor Rick Kriseman light the tree immediately following the Santa Parade in North Straub Park, 400 Bayshore Dr. NE. Stay after the tree lighting to enjoy a night in the park with entertainment, children’s activities, music and more. Concessions will be available. Bring a blanket or lawn chair; seating is not provided. Admission is free and open to the public.

Snowfest – The holiday fun continues with Snowfest on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in North Straub Park. There will be toboggan slides for adults and children, karaoke, inflatables, an art tent and more. Younger children can play at the different activity stations in Kiddyland, and teens can stop by the TASCO Teen Area to play video games, listen to music and charge their electronics at the charging stations provided by the TASCO Division of the St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation Department. The $5 wristband includes all activities and can be purchased at any St. Petersburg recreation center beginning Monday, Nov. 25, through Friday, Dec. 6. Admission is free. Meet Santa – Children can enjoy a meet-and-greet with Santa in North Straub Park on Saturday, Dec. 7, Sunday, Dec. 8, and Dec. 12 through Dec. 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. Visits with Santa are free. Cameras are welcomed and encouraged.

Holiday Movies in the Park – Bring a blanket or chair and settle into a comfy spot in Vinoy Park, 701 Bayshore Dr. NE, off Fifth Ave. NE. for Holiday Movies in the Park on Saturday, Dec. 14 and Dec. 21. It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit with family and friends. Movie starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Visit for the movie lineup.
