You're Invited: "St. Pete Stories" August 27 at Lake Vista
Hear the stories. Meet the storytellers. The next "This is my city: St. Pete Stories" is this Thursday, August 27, 6 to 8 p.m., at Lake Vista Recreation Center, 1401 62nd Avenue South in St. Petersburg. Free and open to the public.
See for yourself the new kind of community conversation locals are raving about. Professional actors will be presenting the stories of three community members. The program also provides time for people to talk in facilitated small groups.
This is the third of four events highlighting the real life stories of citizens from all around the city and engaging people in conversations about their unique experience of St. Pete. "These kinds of stories help to inspire us and they're recorded history," one participant concluded after the first event, "We are now listening with our hearts. St. Pete is a place that is going to be even greater because of that."
Each community conversation event is free and open to the public. All venues are wheelchair accessible and all programs will be ASL interpreted.

“Everyone in our community has a story to share and it’s important that we share those unique stories with one another. These special stories highlight our differences, which we should celebrate in a meaningful way. After all, they are what make our families, neighborhoods, communities and our city so remarkable,” stated Mayor Rick Kriseman.
"This is my city: St. Pete Stories" is part of a larger city of St. Petersburg "Inclusion and Sensitivity" initiative headed by two area diversity consultants: Competency & Performance Solutions, a Tampa firm; and Communication Research Enterprises based here in St. Petersburg. Your Real Stories, a non-profit expert in the power of narrative in communities is producing the events. The City of St Petersburg is the presenting sponsor.
Join us August 27 at 6 p.m. at Lake Vista Recreation Center, 1401 62nd Avenue South for Part 3 of "This is my city: St. Pete Stories." The fourth and final “St. Pete Stories” community conversation is scheduled for October 13 at Sunken Gardens, 1825 Fourth St. N.
