Halloween Fun Starts Oct. 17 with Haunted Firehouse
St. Petersburg, Fla. (October 15, 2015) – Halloween fun in St. Petersburg starts with the annual Haunted firehouse this weekend, continues with Parks and Recreation’s Howl-O-Fest Oct. 23-24, and wraps up with TASCO teen programs’ Field of Screams ‘Quarantine’ Oct. 29 to Nov. 1.
October 17. Come prepared to be scared!
All ages are invited to St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue's annual Haunted House at Station No. 7 in Fossil Park, 6975 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North, on Saturday, October 17, 6 to 9 p.m. Besides the haunted fire house filled with ghosts, spirits and creatures of the night, there will be carnival games, hay rides, snow cones and DJ music. Free and open to the public. Meadowlawn and Fossil Park Neighborhood Associations will be handing out candy. Hot dogs, popcorn, and soda available for purchase.
October 23-24. St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation HOWL-O-FEST.
Looking for family-friendly Halloween fun? This year’s Howl-O-Fest is Friday and Saturday, October 23-24, from 6-10 p.m. at Boyd Hill Environmental Studies Area, 2900 31st Street South. Admission is $5 per person and activities include: inflatable games, art & crafts, airbrush tattoos, Kids “Minions Trail” and live entertainment featuring fire dance shows at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. and “A Viking Tale of Terror” show at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Visit the festive trick or treat cabins with free goodies to all participants; Trick or Treat bags are provided. For additional nominal fees, enjoy $1 hay rides and $1 spooky trail. Carnival style concessions will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit city of St. Petersburg TASCO Teen Programs. October 29-November 1. TASCO Field of Screams “Quarantine.”
Teens and adults are invited, if they dare, to the 10th annual TASCO Field of Screams “Quarantine,” to be held Thurs. to Sunday, October 29 to November 1, from 7 p.m. to midnight, also at Boyd Hill’s Environmental Studies Area, 2900 31st St. S. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate. You will be challenged to navigate through the dark woods, make it out of the village, break out of the decontamination tent, escape the safe house and flee to safety. Participants are exposed to darkness, loud noises, bright lights, wooded trails, and intense scare zones. Not suitable for children; parental discretion is advised.
