Healthy Cooking from Your Garden: Sat. Nov. 7 at Childs Park Community Library

St. Petersburg, Fla. (November 3, 2015) – The St. Petersburg Library System, in partnership with UF/IFAS Extension Pinellas County, will host “Healthy Cooking from Your Garden” at the Childs Park Community Library on Saturday, November 7, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The program is free and open to the public. Participants will learn how to prepare a delicious and healthy meal using garden vegetables, and enjoy a tasting of dishes prepared.

Located at the Childs Park YMCA at 691 43rd St. S., the Childs Park Community Library is the home of the St. Petersburg Library System’s Seed Library. New shipments have recently arrived for fall planting, including vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers. For more information, call 727-893-7714.

The St. Petersburg Library System offers this program as a part of its 5E Community Development Initiative, a method to enhance the provision of resources, services, and programs focused on the Economy, Ecology, Equity, Efficiency and Engagement of our community.
