Saturday Morning Market Relocates to Willliams Park March 5

(St. Petersburg, FL) -  The St Petersburg Saturday Morning Market goes on the road this Saturday, March 5, temporarily relocating to Williams Park, as downtown streets become part of a road course for next weekend's Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Williams Park, located at First Ave. N. at Third Street, is just four blocks from the Market's regular location in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium. Market hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Saturday Market regulars are encouraged to park in their normal parking spots on March 5. Additional paid parking will be available in the Methodist Church lot on the north side of the Park.  Information about other nearby parking options is available at

On March 12, the Market will be closed due to the Grand Prix, but will return to its regular location in the Al Lang Stadium parking lot on March 19. The Market is held weekly on Saturdays from October through May, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The tree-lined park is beginning a transformation with the removal of buses and bus-stops that formerly surrounded Williams Park.  You'll find all your favorite food and produce, colorful crafts, great music and good company during Saturday's Market. Music will be provided by the Pete Merrigan & Friends, along with additional music by Owen Poteat (the one-man-band), and accordion by Nick Boutwell.

Now in its fourteenth season, the Market has experienced extraordinary success, becoming the largest in the southeast U.S.  About 10,000 customers visit weekly, shopping from 130 vendors featuring a wide variety of produce, prepared food, flowers, plants and crafts.  Customers regularly attend from as far as New Port Richey, Lakeland and Venice.

The award-winning Market was recently voted as the best event in St Petersburg by the St Petersburg Downtown Neighborhood Association for the second straight year.
