Love Your Library Month – "Food For Fines" Drive

St. Petersburg, Fla. (February 10, 2015) – The St. Petersburg Library System is pleased to present a Food for Fines Drive in celebration of Love Your Library Month and the Library System’s 100 years of service to St. Petersburg residents and visitors. Library patrons can exchange canned goods and other non-perishable food items for library overdue fines during Food for Fines, February 1-28, 2015, at all St. Petersburg Library locations.

Patrons will get one dollar ($1) in current fines* waived for each can or package of non-perishable, unexpired peanut butter, canned meat or fish, canned vegetable, canned fruit, canned soup, cereal or pasta.  Bring canned goods or items in boxes or plastic bags or plastic jars (no glass can be accepted) to the circulation desk at your library. Don't forget to bring your library card!  Please no drop offs, glass containers, open packages, re-packaged or expired food. 

* Please note Food for Fines does NOT include future overdue fines, replacement costs, processing fees, or collection agency fees. All donations will benefit Society of St. Vincent DePaul, South Pinellas. For more information, call the Main Library at 727-893-7724.
