Public Information Session Addresses Increasing Reclaimed Water Disposal Capacity

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (January 9, 2017) – Citizens are invited to share ideas and suggestions regarding the city’s plans to add two 1,100 ft. deep injection wells at the Southwest Water Reclamation Facility (SWWRF), as well as two proposed wells at the 31st Street Sports Complex, 4801 31st Street South, to increase disposal capacity for reclaimed water during heavy rain events. The wells are an addition to injection wells already in operation at the Southwest plant, which pump treated reclaimed water deep into confined salt-water aquifers.
