Public Input Sought on Northwest Injection Wells;
Additional Meeting Held Tuesday, Feb. 28
ST. PETERSBURG, FL (February 22, 2017) – In an effort to further increase its wet-weather capacity for disposal of reclaimed water, the city of St. Petersburg is seeking to build two more injection wells near its Northwest Water Resources facility. This is in addition to the work already in process for similar expansion at the Southwest Water Resources Facility.
Citizens are invited to share ideas and suggestions regarding the future of the Northwest Water Resources Facility (NWWRF), including the expansion of these Underground Injection Control (UIC) wells.
Residents will have the opportunity to learn about current conditions at the facility, hear an overview of the proposed plans and offer suggestions to Public Works staffers as the city moves ahead with the project.
