Now in its 42nd year, Mainsail Art Festival began in 1976 when the city’s Bicentennial Committee, the Saint Petersburg Recreation Department and the new Saint Petersburg Arts Commission joined forces to sponsor the “First Annual Saint Petersburg Sidewalk Arts and Colonial Crafts Festival.”

The two-day event combines visual and performing arts along with a Young at ARt student show and opportunities for children to actively engage in art activities. There will be an assortment of culinary arts as well as Mainsail souvenirs. Admission is free. Over 260 exhibiting artists from all over the nation have their art on sale or available for commission in categories including Ceramics, Fibers, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Mixed Media, Oil/Acrylic, Photography, Sculpture, Watercolor and Wood.
