MONEY SMART WORKSHOPS AT ST. PETERSBURG LIBRARIES, APRIL 18-25
The St. Petersburg Library System, in partnership with GTE Financial, offers financial wellness workshops during Money Smart Week, April 18 to 25. Locations and topics vary:
Monday, April 20, 4 to 5:30 p.m., at Main Library, 3745 Ninth Ave. N.: Identity Theft and Card Fraud Prevention -Learn preventive tips to reduce the risk of identity theft and to minimize damage if it does occur.
Tuesday, April 21, 3 to 4:30 p.m., at Main Library: First Time Homebuyers - Learn steps to buy a home, as well as rates and terms for mortgages.
Wednesday, April 22, 5 to 6:30 p.m., at Mirror Lake Community Library, 280 Fifth St. N.: Spending and Savings Plan - Learn to manage money and eliminate overwhelm by bills and wasteful spending.
Thursday, April 23, 6 to 7:30 p.m., at North Community Library, 861 70th Ave. N.: Solving the Mystery of Credit Reports – Learn more about the reporting and scoring process, your rights and responsibilities, and how to establish a strong credit history.
Friday, April 24, 2 to 3:30 p.m., at Main Library: Social Security Benefits - Learn how your benefit is determined and how working, as well as how retiring early or later, affects your benefit. Use this knowledge to maximize your income.
The St. Petersburg Library System offers this program as a part of a 5E Community Development Initiative, a method to enhance the provision of resources, services and programs focused on the Economy, Ecology, Equity, Efficiency and Engagement of our community.
