St. Pete Museums, Galleries, Celebrate Arts Alive! Free Museum Day 2021

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – St. Pete’s world-class arts and culture welcomes residents and visitors alike to celebrate this year’s Arts Alive! Free Museum Day on Saturday, September 18, as select museums and galleries waive admission charges.

Participating locations, ticketing requirements, and specific health and safety protocols include:

  • Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum

  • Florida Holocaust Museum

    • Advance tickets are required and can be reserved at flholocaustmuseum.org.

    • Health & safety protocols: Visitors will be limited to 15 people per 15 minutes and are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.

  • Imagine Museum

    • Advance tickets are required and can be reserved at imaginemuseum.com. Tickets allow access to all 1st floor galleries. Individuals will be placed in Groups of 15. No Large Bags or Backpacks allowed. Please do not use flash photography, tripods, video cameras, easels or selfie sticks. 

    • Health & safety protocols: Masks will be required of all individuals over 2 years of age. 

  • The Dali Museum 

    • Advance tickets are required and can be reserved at thedali.org/event/arts-alive-at-the-dali-2021/. Free admission for Pinellas County residents only with valid proof of residence

    • Health & safety protocols: face masks are required for all visitors (with the exception of children under the age of three), guest capacity will be limited, and physical distancing reminders/indicators will be present throughout the Museum

  • The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art

    • Health & safety protocols: Face coverings are required for all visitors regardless of vaccination status. The use of a face covering for visitors under 18 will be left to the discretion of that visitor’s parent, guardian or an accompanying adult. Social distancing is encouraged. The Museum will not be accepting cash. Canyon Cafe is temporarily closed.

  • St. Petersburg Museum of History

    • Free admission for Pinellas County residents only.

    • Health & safety protocols: Masks are required, regardless of vaccination status. There are way-finding areas through the Museum and social distancing is encouraged

  • Museum of Fine Arts

    • Free admission will be to the collection galleries only. The Hough Wing temporary exhibition space will only be open to members that day (it is a member preview day for Pieced and Patterned, the American quilts exhibition).

    • Health & safety protocols: Masks and social distancing will be required at all times, and there will be a one-way ‘path’ to follow through the collection galleries. Gallery capacities will be limited, posted, and enforced.

Parking for Free Museum Day is available in any of the downtown garages. Visitors are encouraged to ride the St. Petersburg Trolley Downtown Looper or the Central Avenue Trolley; schedule and stop information is available at stpetetrolley.com.
