The Kriseman Administration Launches St. Pete's Faring Well Tour, Marking Final Months of Mayor's Tenure
Beginning October 14, the tour stops will serve to highlight advancements and inform residents – and provide for a little fun.
(St. Petersburg, FL) - As the end of Mayor Rick Kriseman’s second and final term nears, the City of St. Petersburg is launching the ‘St. Pete’s Faring Well Tour’ featuring a series of appearances by Mayor Rick Kriseman and city officials, including Deputy Mayor and City Administrator Dr. Kanika Tomalin. The tour kicks off on Thursday, October 14 at 10:00 a.m. at the unveiling of a new plaque at the St. Pete Pier marking the 60th Anniversary of St. Pete’s Sister City relationship with Takamatsu, Japan. The tour will conclude in January with a Faring Well Address by Mayor Kriseman.
Said Mayor Kriseman, “Opportunities and challenges remain for St. Pete, but the city is faring well. The next mayor will inherit a growing, vibrant city and a strong government. I’m looking forward to being on tour to reflect on our progress, highlight all the good that is happening as we recover from what we hope was the worst of the pandemic, and provide updates on important issues like the state of our infrastructure. This is also an opportunity for me to simply say ‘thank you’ to the people of St. Petersburg. Being mayor has been the honor of my life, but the accomplishments have been a team effort - a credit to 270,000 passionate residents and the best servant leaders in any city government.”
Faring Well Tour merchandise and promotional items will be made available at many of the tour stops. A complete list of stops is available at stpete.org/faringwell. Additional stops may be added.
The first event is in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Sister City relationship between the City St. Petersburg and Takamatsu, Japan. Mayor Kriseman will welcome Japanese Consul General Kazuhiro Nakai to the Sunshine City on October 14, the first ‘Faring Well’ event. The Consul General and Mayor Kriseman will participate in an unveiling of the Sister City sign at the St. Pete Pier. Following the unveiling, the Mayor will give Consul General Nakai a tour of the St. Pete Pier.
