ARE YOU SEWER SMART?

Help protect St. Pete pipes and prevent sewer blockages & overflows by being kind to your pipes.

Don't flush these items:

  • Dental floss
  • Diapers
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Facial tissues
  • Paper towels
  • Wipes, including those advertised as flushable

Dispose of fats, oil and grease properly:

  • Collect grease in a container once cooled and dispose in the trash, not down the drain.
  • Remove grease and oils from your pans before washing.
  • Dispose of food scraps in the trash.

OPPORTUNITY CREATION FOR ALL

St. Pete's Brother's and Sister's Keeper (MBSK) initiative exists to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by young men and women of color and connect young people to mentoring, support networks, and workforce development programs to prepare them for their next life chapter.

Programs under the MBSK umbrella include:
Cohort of Champions - a training program that involves educational, entrepreneurial, workforce, and enrichment training opportunities for young men and women, ages 12 to 24, aiming to prepare our African American young men and women for the future as well as to develop a trained, qualified and ready workforce.

Not My Son - a grassroots community outreach marketing campaign and intervention effort to assist African American male youth and young adults (ages 12 to 24) to promote positive achievement and anti-crime awareness.

Youth Development Grants - a program that provides funding opportunities to local non-profit organizations who provide services to St. Pete youth.
