Green Thumb Festival is Back at Walter Fuller Park

St. Petersburg, FL (April 2022) – Grow your garden at St. Pete’s annual Arbor Day celebration, the Green Thumb Festival. The festival returns on Saturday, April 23, and Sunday, April 24, to Walter Fuller Park, 7891 26th Ave. N., St. Pete, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The festival features more than 120 garden, plant and flower vendors and exhibitors and adult and youth programs and activities.

On Saturday at 1 p.m., Mayor Kenneth T. Welch will accept the Tree City USA award from the Arbor Day Foundation recognizing St. Pete’s commitment to meeting forestry standards. Mayor Welch will also present the Green Thumb awards to adult and youth volunteers who have made outstanding contributions in the environmental field.

Join the fun during the two-day festival by participating in the featured activities:

  • Arts and crafts and hands-on presentations at the Kids’ Stage and Tent and horticultural and environmental presentations at the Main Tent. A full list of presentations is available at stpeteparksrec.org/greenthumb.
  • The Garden Wagon Parade and Decorating Contest on Saturday, April 23, at 11:30 a.m. Anyone can enter to deck out their garden wagon for prizes. There are two entry categories: youth and adult. Entry fee is $5. For contest rules and to register, visit stpeteparksrec.org/greenthumb.
  • The festival’s new additions to the lineup are the free workshops for adults. Workshops are taught by UF/IFAS master gardeners. Registration is required; spots are limited. For a list of workshops and to reserve your spot, visit stpeteparksrec.org/greenthumb

Festival highlights also include the St. Petersburg Garden Club’s Flower Show, the $5 tree sale, plant diagnostic clinic and tool sharpening, free mulch and pine seedlings, festival merchandise, food trucks and more.
