ST. PETERSBURG, FL (May 2, 2022) - The City of St. Petersburg released the applications for this year’s cycle of Youth Development Grants – a City program providing opportunities for funding to non-profit local organizations, in good standing, who provide services to youth and are located within the municipal boundaries of St. Pete.

Applicants are invited to attend a virtual information session on the dates and times listed below.

1.      Wednesday, May 18 at 6:00–7:30 p.m.

2.      Thursday, May 26 at 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Applications for the Youth Program Development grants are available online at stpete.org/MBSK until June 2 at 5:00 p.m.

Said Mayor Ken Welch: “Youth opportunity is a core priority within my administration, and these grants are important tools for connecting young people with educational, career and life skills support. These grants support inclusive progress by providing community partners with resources to increase engagement, outreach, programming and impact — to ensure that all of our city’s youth have achievable pathways to success.”

The City of St. Petersburg is also seeking residents who are interested in promoting education and workforce participation to the city’s at-risk youth to fill vacancies on the Youth Development Grant Review Committee.

The eight-person committee reviews grant applications for the Youth Development Grant Program, a component of the My Brother’s and Sister’s Keeper (MBSK) initiative, and provides recommendations to the Mayor for funding based on criteria and guidelines. Organizations associated with selected committee members are unable to apply to receive funding through this grant cycle.

The City will be accepting applications for the Youth Development Grant Review Committee until 5 p.m. on Monday, June 6.
