Mayor Welch to host second Community Conversation on Historic Gas Plant District redevelopment

St. Petersburg, FL — Mayor Ken Welch, along with City staff and subject matter experts, will meet with members of the community Tuesday, July 19 to gather input on priorities for the redevelopment of the Historic Gas Plant District, home to Tropicana Field and the 86-acre site. This Community Conversation is co-hosted by the Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA).  

Members of the media are invited to attend. 

Who: Mayor Ken Welch, representatives from the Council of Neighborhood Associations (event co-hosts), subject matter experts and members of the community 
What: Second Community Conversations session seeking input on the redevelopment of the Historic Gas Plant District 
Where: St. Petersburg College-Gibbs Campus located at 6605 5th Ave. North 
When: Tuesday, July 19 5:30-7:30pm  

Details: Mayor Welch, a representative from the Council of Neighborhood Associations and subject matter experts will deliver opening remarks outlining the Community Conversations’ purpose, goals and process. Attendees will then break into groups to discuss priorities for redevelopment, with input catalogued by a team of facilitators in each break-out group.
