WHY ARE UTILITY RATES CHANGING ANYWAY?
Good question! Utility fees support the continued efforts to enhance the reliability of the city’s drinking water, wastewater, reclaimed water, stormwater and sanitation utilities. Fees also support the operations, maintenance and infrastructure of those utilities to meet the current and future needs of our community. Since most of St. Pete’s aging infrastructure has reached or exceeded its design lifespan, continued investment is required in order to maintain and preserve St. Pete's infrastructure.

HERE TO HELP
There is a multitude of affordability and assistance programs out there to help with utility payments and more.

The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program, or the LIHWAP as we like to call it, helps income-qualified families with water and wastewater costs. Find details and the application at pcul.org/housing.

Additionally, find a directory of even more assistance by visiting 211tampabay.org or calling 211.

SAVE WATER & $$
Conserving water is a great way to minimize your utility bill. Also, rebates are available for those who install smart irrigation controllers, high-efficiency toilets, well irrigation systems, rain barrels and more.

Details and additional programs, workshops and resources can be found at stpete.org/WaterConservation

HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS IN NEED / SHARING IS CARING
With the Utility Assistance Program, you can help utility customers that are having trouble with their utility costs by signing up for automatic donations through your utility bill.

You can setup one-time or recurring donations for any amount or opt in for the Utility Bill Round Up (yeehaw!) to round up your bill to the nearest dollar and donate the difference. That would come to less than $10/year!

More info and the sign up form at stpete.org/UtilityAssistance.
