City of St. Petersburg Seeks Residents to Fill Seats on Several Boards & Committees

St. Petersburg, FL (Jan. 11, 2023) - The City of St. Petersburg has three Boards & Committees that are seeking residents to serve.

Development Review Commission (DRC) – One Member

The DRC acts as the Land Development Regulation Commission (LDRC) for the purposes of and as required by the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Regulation Act to review and evaluate proposed modifications to the Land Development Regulations, except as to certain historic and archaeological preservation matters where the Community Preservation Commission serves as the LDRC.

Consolidated Plan Application Review Committee (CPARC) – Up to Six Members

This committee is responsible for reviewing applications submitted for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and makes recommendations to City Council for approval of funding.

Civil Service Board – Two Members and Two Alternative Members

The Civil Service Board is a quasi-judicial review board created by the St. Petersburg City Charter to provide classified employees with an economical and less formal opportunity to have certain disciplinary actions reviewed by a board of lay persons. The board acts as a fact-finding body that determines whether management had sufficient cause to discipline employees in cases involving termination, involuntary demotion, or suspension more than 15 calendar days.
