St. Pete Celebrates 37th Annual Celebration & Longest-Running MLK Parade January 14-16

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (January 11, 2023) - This weekend, January 14-16, 2023, St. Petersburg will celebrate the life, legacy, and dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with live music, festivities and one of the nation's longest-running parades. In its 37th year, St. Pete’s “MLK Dream Big” Parade begins at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 16, and runs west along 1st Avenue South starting at 3rd Street. View the parade route map, here.

Saturday, January 14
Music & Arts Festival

Sunday, January 15

Road Closures & Sunrunner Schedule
This year's MLK parade route will turn down 16th St. to enter 17th St. and road closures will be required. St. Petersburg Police Department will divert traffic toward 20th St. There will be road closures at all streets that intersect 1st Ave. S. Sunrunner stops 5th Ave. N, 8th St. N and 13th St. N will be impacted by the parade from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Trash & Recycling Updates:
Residential trash and recycling collection regularly scheduled for Monday will occur on Tuesday. Tuesday collections will be made on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday collections remain the same.

City Facility Closures:
Due to the holiday, certain City facilities and services will be closed on Monday, January 16. Visit stpete.org/holidayclosures for more.
