Sustainability in St. Pete
As a part of our commitment to city development and progression, the City of St. Petersburg works diligently to be environmentally friendly every day. With programs such as Solar and Energy Loan Fund (SELF), we are able to lower resident’s utility bills and improve the quality of life. We also put a lot of care into making sure our city is green! St. Petersburg has won the Tree City USA award for 36 consecutive years, celebrating our commitment to environmental protection. This commitment is reflected through numerous of other programs initiated city wide, including our Healthy St. Pete team. Other major focuses in the city to protect our environment are development in urban agriculture, water conservation, and waste reduction.
