Certified Green Lodging
Introduction
A Florida Green Lodging Program designated property is a hotel, motel, resort or bed & breakfast that implements programs and practices aimed at protecting and conserving Florida's natural resources and the environment, while educating their staff and guests about its importance.
The Florida Green Lodging Program was established in 2004 by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. It is a voluntary, non-regulatory program designed to acknowledge and reward environmentally conscious facilities in the lodging industry. The Florida Green Lodging Program is unique in that it covers an all-inclusive list of environmental initiatives that focus on Florida's Environment. The goal is to help Florida's lodging industry become sustainable while continually improving their environmental performance.
