Violation date(s): 08/17/19
Water Reclamation Facility: SOUTHWEST
SINGLE DAY VIOLATION (<5.0mg/L)
Maximum Total Suspended Solids (TSS): 50 mg/L
Volume: 6.61 Million Gallons
Comments: Extreme wet weather flows caused an increase in the plant effluent turbidity & suspended solids. Flow was diverted to the Reject Tanks. Hourly TSS sampling was begun at 19:30. Pumping to the reject tanks wasn't sufficient due to construction and only having two backwash pumps in service. At approximately 17:50, flows exceeded reject capability and off-spec water was diverted to the Injection Wells. The turbidity returned to compliance level at 22:30 and TSS at 23:30. The reclaimed water tank did receive an estimated 0.7 MG of off-spec water and the tank wash flushed according to protocol. At no time did off-spec water enter the Public Access Reuse System. - Wastewater Discharge Notification – 08.17.2019
