More Accessible, More Inclusive

The Committee to Advocate for Persons with Impairments (CAPI) offers opportunities for organizations and entities to learn how to better serve, attract, and include people with disabilities in their organizations and communities. CAPI holds workshops on accessibility, disability sensitivity, training for emergency preparedness, disability laws and ADA compliance.

Past participants in accessibility education include City staff, area museums and attractions, services for the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, and members of the Chamber of Commerce. Workshops vary in content and format and may include experiential training, which allows people without a disability to experience what it is like to have a disability, to demonstrate how societal and environmental barriers affect a person's access to services, facilities, and fulfillment.
