Residential Parking

To keep St. Pete neighborhoods safe and uncluttered, City Codes govern where vehicles and equipment can be parked in residential areas.

What is the Impact?

  • Improperly parked vehicles can create visibility and safety problems for drivers or prevent clearance of emergency service vehicles.
  • Underground utilities, curbs and sidewalks are often damaged by the weight of vehicles parked or driven over them.
  • Improperly parked vehicles prevent grass and plants from being able to grow. Without live plant material to hold the soil in place, excessive soil erosion can occur, which can impair the effectiveness of stormwater drainage systems.

Be a Good Neighbor

Violations may result in a citation immediately upon observation. You will need to remove the vehicle, motorcycle, boat or equipment prior to the compliance date provided in the Notice of Violation. Notices of Violation are valid for one year from issuance.

Contact the Codes Compliance Office at 727‑893‑7373 with any questions about violations and how to correct them.
