The mission of Healthy St. Pete is to build a culture of health in our city by making the healthy choice the easy choice. Through a collaborative community effort we will work to improve health outcomes, reduce health inequities, and strive to implement policies and programs that give all citizens the opportunity to reach and enjoy optimal health. This initiative is designed to encourage our community to Eat, Shop, Live and Play Healthy in a city where the sun shines on all.
Health in All Policies
Healthy St. Pete has joined with community partners to focus on adopting a health framework to planning for projects, programs and policies. By adopting a Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach, the City recognizes that all departments have a role to play in ensuring everyone can live a long and healthy life. Employee Wellness Program
Healthy St. Pete is working to improve the health and wellbeing of City employees through the implementation of a comprehensive employee wellness program. The overarching goals of the Healthy St. Pete Employee Wellness Program include decreasing chronic health incidence and risk factors among our employee population as well as increasing engagement, morale, and resilience. Just as with community-based programming, the employee wellness program will work to build the culture of health within our organization, remove obstacles to employee health, work to reduce absenteeism, increase productivity and reduce employee related healthcare costs. We will reach these goals through health education and activities that support a healthy lifestyle which will lead to a healthier employee population.
