Homelessness is a serious challenge across the United States, particularly in recent years with the economic downturn. One of America's greatest cities, St. Petersburg is an attractive destination for many, including homeless individuals. As a compassionate community, our city strives to serve the needs of our homeless neighbors while balancing the rights of all residents to have a safe, clean and attractive community for all to enjoy.

Strategic Plan to Address the Homelessness
Dr. Robert Marbut, Jr., Ph.D. was hired by the City of St. Petersburg in October, 2010, to create a strategic plan to address the homelessness issues in St. Petersburg and Pinellas County.  Dr. Marbut was the founding CEO and President of Haven for Hope in San Antonio, TX and has become an expert on homelessness around the Country.  He has visited over 496 agencies nationally and created Haven for Hope from the "best practices" of the agencies he visited.
