The City of St. Petersburg is committed to the idea of “Government in the Sunshine,” and the responsible, documented use of government resources. The City works to enhance government transparency by providing access to financial and budgetary processes, reports and documents, organized below. The public is able to explore budget and other financial data on OpenGov, the City's interactive reporting tool.

December 2021 - Budget Department develops FY23 budget instructions
January 2022 - Capital Improvement Budget Kickoff meeting
February 2022 - Operating Budget Kickoff meeting and CIP Budget Line Item Review Meetings
March 2022 - Line-Item Review meetings for all departments with Deputy Mayor, City Administrator and Budget Department staff

May 16, 2022 at 6 p.m. - FY23 Budget Open House - the public has the opportunity to share their thoughts and priorities with the Mayor and City officials
July 1, 2022 – Pinellas County Property Appraiser certifies the Preliminary Tax Roll
July 15, 2022 – Mayor submits recommended FY23 Budget to City Council
July 21, 2022 – City Council adopts tentative millage rate and sets September FY23 Budget Public Hearing dates/times
Adoption
The City of St. Petersburg will host public hearings for the Fiscal Year 2023 City budget.
- Public Hearing #1: City Council adopts the tentative FY23 City Budget and millage rate.
Sept. 15, 2022 at 6 p.m. - Public Hearing #2: City Council considers adoption of the final FY23 Budget and millage rate, and approval of the Capital Improvements Plan.
Sept. 29, 2022 at 6 p.m.
The public hearings will take place in Council Chambers at City Hall (175 5th St. N.). They will also be broadcast live on stpete.org/TV and digital cable channels:

Oct. 1, 2022 - Fiscal Year 2023 budget begins
Financial Reporting
