Downtown Aviation
The City’s Albert Whitted Airport sits on the edge of downtown St. Pete, overlooking Tampa Bay. The Airport provides various aviation services including fueling, storage, parking, maintenance, flight training, charter and rentals, avionics, and sightseeing tours. In addition to general aviation, the Airport also supports Civil Air Patrol, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Bayflite Medivac, and various other medical transport services. Fuel
Aircraft fueling services are provided through the FBO, Sheltair Aviation. 100LL and Jet A are provided via fuel truck service. There is also a self-service fueling facility located on the north side of Taxiway “C” that provides 100LL. Truck fueling service is provided during normal FBO operating hours. The self-service facility is available 24/7. Contact Sheltair at 727-824-2880 for the latest fuel pricing and additional information regarding fueling services.

Activities
Albert Whitted provides a variety of activities and opportunities to visitors and residents including sightseeing tours, a park, fine dining, and youth programs.
Aerial Sightseeing Tours
Sightseeing flights are available by helicopter (Tampa Bay Aviation at 727-461-5229 or Executive Helicopters at 833-FLY-HELI) or historic bi-plane (Flying Adventures at 727-724-4141). Dining and flight specials are also available through the Hangar Restaurant (727-823-7767).
Albert Whitted Airport Preservation Society
The Preservation Society provides airport tours, an education center, the National Airlines Museum, and other special events. Volunteer opportunities are also available. Please contact 727-822-1532 for more information or to schedule a tour. www.AWAPS.org.
Albert Whitted Park
Part of the City's waterfront park system, the Albert Whitted Park is located on the north side of the airport. The park has observation areas overlooking the airport and an aviation themed playground. The Park is open to the general public, and can be reserved for special functions. Dining
The Hangar Restaurant and Flight Lounge (727-823-7767) is located in the Galbraith Terminal Building and offers a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. The aviation-themed restaurant overlooks the runway and offers live music and weekly specials. www.thehangarstpete.com
Flight Instruction
Flight lessons are available for recreational and commercial pilot’s licenses through St. Pete Air (727-755-1359). Introductory flights are also available. www.stpeteair.org
Young Eagles Program
The Young Eagles program is a nationwide program developed by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) as a means to introduce young people to the experience of flight. The Young Eagles program at Albert Whitted is co-sponsored by the local EAA, Chapter 1602. At various times during the year, they will host a day of free flights for children between the ages of 8 - 17. For more information, please contact the EAA Chapter 1602 at www.eaa1602.org.
