Now Enrolling: Citizens Police Academy

Aug. 2, 2023 - Community members who are interested in learning about the St. Petersburg Police Department are invited to join the Citizens Police Academy.

The Citizens Police Academy provides hands-on, interactive classes in a relaxed environment. The academy begins September 5th and meets every Tuesday through October 24th, and will cover topics such as:

• Chat with the Chief
• Police K-9 and Mounted Patrol
• Use of Force Scenarios
• Active Shooter
• DUI & Crash Investigations
• SWAT
• Crime Scene and Evidence Collection
• Homicide Investigations
• Human Trafficking
• Emergency Communications

Please note the program is not a certification to become a sworn St. Petersburg Police Officer. Applicants must agree to a background check. Enrollment is limited.
