Lane Closures Happening on Central Avenue This Weekend in the Edge District

St. Petersburg, FL (October 19, 2023) - St. Petersburg is honored to welcome Orange Belt, a new organizer of cycling events based in St. Pete, to host the CRIT Championship Tour, a criterium bike race in the heart of the EDGE District to be held on Saturday, October 21.

There will be lane closures along the race route put into effect in order to maintain the safety of riders. Please note traffic changes ahead of the race.

1st Ave N:

  1. One north lane will remain open to westbound traffic at all times

  2. SunRunner will have a temporary stop created on the north side of 1st Ave N at 13th St (north of existing stop in front of the Police Department, the existing stop will be inside the closure and not available for passengers)

  3. Remaining south lanes will begin a taper at MLK and shift lane closures to the one north lane open

  4. Lane closures will begin at approximately 3 a.m. on October 21

Central Ave from 11th St N to 16th St N:

  1. Parking will be offline beginning Friday, October 20

  2. Central Ave will close to traffic at approximately 5 a.m. on October 21

  3. Expect Central Ave to reopen at approximately 10 p.m. on October 21

Baum Ave from 11th St N to 13th St:

  1. Parking will be offline beginning Friday, October 20

  2. Baum Ave will close to traffic at approximately 5 a.m. on October 21

  3. Expect Baum Ave to reopen at approximately 11 p.m. on October 21

  4. Pedestrian access points will be at 11th St, 13th St and 15th St available at all times

13th St N between 1st Ave N and 1st Ave S:

  1. Will be closed to through traffic beginning Saturday, October 21 at approximately 5 a.m.

  2. Access to Ferg's will be from 1st Ave S N at 13th St into Ferg's parking lot only

  3. Expect road to reopen at approximately 11 p.m. October 21
