City of St. Petersburg Introduces New Resources for Renters

St. Petersburg, FL (December 13, 2023) - The City of St. Petersburg has developed St. Petersburg’s Guide for Renters, a new resource to help St. Pete residents through the rental process - from finding the right place to finding legal help if needed.

St. Petersburg’s Guide for Renters is an extensive compilation of advice, tips, and resources. It supports one of the major goals of Mayor Kenneth T. Welch’s Housing Opportunities for All Plan of protecting tenants to ensure they have safe and secure housing. This plan is a comprehensive 10-year plan to address housing affordability through logical housing policies to help middle- and working-class residents in St. Pete. More information is available at stpete.org/Housing.

The Guide includes the following helpful information for St. Pete's renters:

  • Preparing to Rent

  • Before You Sign the Lease

  • Protect Yourself

  • Renters' Rights

  • Eviction Resources

The City of St. Petersburg is committed to helping renters attain safe and secure housing by enforcing housing habitability standards and discouraging evictions through strong tenant protections. This guide helps tenants through the rental process and educates on renter's rights.

The Guide for Renters is now available at stpete.org/Renters.
