Your Guide to New Year's Eve in Downtown St. Pete

St. Petersburg, FL (December 27, 2023) - Ring in the New Year in downtown St. Pete! Here's your guide for fireworks and events, getting around, and where to park.

Fireworks & Events

The City of St. Petersburg's annual New Year’s Eve fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 12 a.m. on January 1, weather permitting, and will be visible along St. Pete's downtown waterfront parks. The show will last approximately 20 minutes. The fireworks will be launched from Vinoy Park and visible from the downtown waterfront.

Spectators can also enjoy NYE on the Pier, the St. Pete Pier's New Year's Eve celebration, which starts at 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and will feature DJs, food trucks, bars and more. More information can be found at nyestpete.com.  Parking will be limited at the Pier for all except those who arrive early.

The City is also excited to announce the return of First Night St. Petersburg for the 2023-2024 celebration year, marking the 30th annual New Year's Eve celebration of arts. This year's event, themed "Art in the Park," will be held at North Straub Park from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on December 31, 2023, and is free for all ages. Visit firstnightstpete.com for event details.

Getting There

Get a ride to the event with the SunRunner, PSTA's Bus Rapid Transit service. With service from St. Pete Beach to downtown St. Pete every 15 minutes until 1AM, the SunRunner is a quick and easy way to get to the beach, downtown or anywhere in between. All PSTA bus routes will be free on NYE including SunRunner. Route 4 will also run until 1AM.

You can also catch a ride on the St. Petersburg Trolley/Downtown Looper! The Looper route is the green way to get around downtown. This convenient service can get you to all of the most popular destinations around town, including the Pier.

Parking

Parking garages, City lots and metered parking are available downtown. The City parking option with the most capacity available near the festivities will be the South Core Parking Garage at 101 1st Avenue South – follow electronic message signs to enter from 1st Avenue South between 1st and 2nd Streets.  Visit stpete.org/parking for more information on available parking areas.
