Palmetto Park Neighborhood Plan
Palmetto Park Neighborhood Plan
Project Overview
The South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) was established in 2014. The 4,777-acre South St. Petersburg CRA is the largest in the City and the area encompasses or borders over 20 of the City’s Neighborhoods. In the early 2000s, Neighborhood Plans were developed for many of the City’s organized neighborhoods, including some of those located within the existing boundary of the South St. Petersburg CRA. The entire area and individual neighborhoods have experienced significant change over the past twenty years.
The Neighborhood Planning Program (NPP) was developed in 2022 to support eligible neighborhoods within the South St. Petersburg CRA in planning and revitalization activities that can “reduce blight, improve public infrastructure, increase amenities and services, expand neighborhood organizational capacity and engagement, and strengthen neighborhood image and identity.” The Palmetto Park Neighborhood Plan Update will be a community-driven Plan focused on Neighborhood preservation and revitalization.
