The St. Petersburg Police Department is one of over 800 law enforcement agencies in the United States accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
In 2012 the Department was awarded Advanced Accreditation and was selected by the Commissioners of CALEA to receive the Accreditation with Excellence Award, documenting the Department’s commitment and efforts to professionalism, excellence and a benchmark for law enforcement agencies internationally. The Award attaches to the Department’s Advanced Accreditation status for a period of three years. Additionally the Department continues its status as a Meritorious agency for its continued demonstration and commitment to law enforcement professionalism.
Our agency is also one of over 140 Florida law enforcement agencies accredited by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA). In 2012, the Department was awarded its third re-accreditation in 2012.
These achievements reflect our Department’s commitment to excellence and our determination to adhere to the highest standards of policing.
