Plan Ahead, Get Your Flu Shot

Getting a flu shot is as important as ever this year. Although flu vaccination is not related to COVID-19, it is vital in helping reduce the impact of respiratory illnesses and resulting burdens on the healthcare system during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Residents are encouraged to help prevent the spread of the flu by getting their flu vaccination as soon as they can. Annual flu vaccination is recommended for all persons age 6 months and older, including pregnant women, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Protection. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body and provide protection against the flu. More about the flu can be found at

Commercial Revitalization Program Applications Available

The Commercial Revitalization Program (CRP) provides grant awards to projects that:
  • involve future work on a new or existing commercial buildings or developments
  • improve business districts by redeveloping properties
  • decrease commercial vacancy rates
  • leverage private investment
  • and ultimately add to the tax base

The CRP will provide funding for projects on the city's eligible commercial corridors located outside of the downtown core. This assistance is in the form of a matching grant, which will be paid at the successful completion of the project. Plans and estimates for construction must be provided.

Applications are available now and will be accepted until Friday, November 20, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

COVID-19 testing site moved to Tropicana Field parking lot

Testing is back in St. Pete!

The COVID-19 testing site at the Mahaffey Theater has relocated to Tropicana Field parking lot 2 – Enter at 3rd Ave South/16th St. S.

  • Tropicana Field site will run Tuesdays – Saturdays 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., starting Wednesday Oct. 7
  • Testing remains free with no symptoms needed
  • Antibody testing will not be available
