Lift Station Construction to Close a Portion of 5th Avenue South

St. Petersburg, FL (March 17, 2022) - Construction for a new wastewater pipeline will close 5th Avenue South at 43rd Street South March 30 through April 1, 2022. During this time, traffic on 5th Avenue South will be routed through 44th Street South, Fairfield Avenue South and 41st Street South.

From March 28 to April 1, 2022, intersections of 43rd Street South from 1st Avenue South to 4th Avenue South will be closed for construction. East- and westbound traffic will not be able to cross 43rd Street South.

A section of 43rd Street between Fairfield Avenue and the Pinellas Trail is currently closed for construction through May 23, 2022. The Childs Park YMCA is accessible via 43rd Street from south.

All detours are clearly marked, and variable message boards will keep motorists and pedestrians informed. Please use caution while driving, bicycling or walking in the area, and allow extra time for travel.
