Lift Station Construction to Close a Portion of 5th Avenue South

St. Petersburg, FL (March 17, 2022) - Construction for a new wastewater pipeline will close 5^th Avenue South at 43^rd Street South March 30 through April 1, 2022. During this time, traffic on 5^th Avenue South will be routed through 44^th Street South, Fairfield Avenue South and 41^st Street South.

From March 28 to April 1, 2022, intersections of 43^rd Street South from 1^st Avenue South to 4^th Avenue South will be closed for construction. East- and westbound traffic will not be able to cross 43^rd Street South.

A section of 43^rd Street between Fairfield Avenue and the Pinellas Trail is currently closed for construction through May 23, 2022. The Childs Park YMCA is accessible via 43^rd Street from south.

All detours are clearly marked, and variable message boards will keep motorists and pedestrians informed. Please use caution while driving, bicycling or walking in the area, and allow extra time for travel.
