St. Petersburg, FL (May 4, 2022) – The City of St. Petersburg has several open Sanitation Specialist positions, which operate sanitation trucks. The full-time position offers pay ranging from $23.18 to $31.39 per hour.

This is skilled work operating heavy duty sanitation equipment and collection vehicles used for the collection and disposal of solid waste. Work involves both the operation of the truck and its associated hydraulic packing devices and may entail considerable manipulative skill in the safe operation of automated equipment in areas of limited space and heavy traffic.

Applicants must possess and continue to maintain a valid State of Florida Class “B” Commercial Driver License, have some experience in the operation of heavy-duty refuse collection equipment and hydraulic packer sanitation trucks and be able to read and follow a route or area sheet and map.
