Health and Wellness Expo Coming to Childs Park

St. Petersburg, FL (Nov. 2, 2022) - The Saturday Morning Shoppe and the City of St. Petersburg are excited to bring the inaugural Health and Wellness Expo to the Childs Park Recreation and Fitness Center on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 1-5 p.m. Meet local vendors, obtain health and wellness information, enjoy live entertainment, and taste some of the best food in town. Free grocery giveaway to the first 500 attendees!

The vision of the Expo is to create opportunities for the community to gain knowledge, meet industry leaders in medicine, insurance, nutrition, and offer free resources.

Saturday Morning Shoppe founder Renee Edwards believes in bringing community issues to the forefront. Within the last 15 months, Edwards has assisted small business owners to develop brick and mortar locations. After losing a close friend and family member to uncontrolled diabetes and watching her high school sweetheart suffer through dialysis, she decided to work on creating a health expo to educate the community on available medications and treatments.

Edwards says that partnering with the City of St. Petersburg Leisure Services Administrator Mike Jefferies and the City’s Parks and Recreation team makes her feel good. Event sponsors include Simply Healthcare, Dedicated Senior Medical Center, Florida Blue, Village Medical, Bayfront Hospital, and others.

The St. Petersburg Police Department will assist with a bicycle raffle, and the Childs Park Recreation and Fitness Center will provide free children’s’ activities.
