Get Involved: Vacancies on the Community Planning and Preservation Commission

The City of St. Petersburg is seeking to immediately fill two (2) vacancies on the Community Planning and Preservation Commission (CPPC) with professional members from the disciplines of architecture, architectural history, and construction (renovation and restoration).

Function of the Commission:
The CPPC is made up of seven (7) regular members and three (3) alternate members. Responsibilities include: reviewing map amendments to the Future Land Use and Official Zoning maps and text amendments to the Comprehensive Plan; participating in other specialized zoning and land use planning projects; and reviewing all matters pertaining to historic and archaeological preservation.

Meetings are held at 2:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at City Hall. Members are eligible to serve up to two (2), consecutive 3-year terms. Alternate members are eligible to serve an unlimited number of 3-year terms. Terms begin on October 1 and end on September 30.

Application process:
The City will be accepting applications until Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. After the application closes, the City will review applications/resumes for the current positions. The City will accept applications and resumes on an ongoing basis beyond the deadline to maintain a pool of eligible candidates for future vacancies. 

Applications for this position will be valid for one year after receipt to allow the City to respond quickly to openings on the CPPC that may occur during the year.
